Why a pre-booked transfer makes sense in Cairo
Cairo is a wonderful, chaotic place, and the airport is your first taste of it. Three terminals spread a fair distance apart, persistent drivers at every exit, and city traffic that can turn a short hop into an hour without much warning. Agreeing a fair price at 2am after a long flight is the last thing you want to be doing.
With a transfer booked in advance the price is fixed, the driver is matched to your terminal, and you walk past the crowd at arrivals straight to someone holding your name.
Getting to your part of the city
Where you are staying makes a big difference to the journey, and so does the time of day:
- Heliopolis and Nasr City — closest to the airport, usually 15 to 25 minutes
- Downtown, Zamalek and Garden City — around 30 to 45 minutes in normal traffic
- Giza and the Pyramids area — typically 45 minutes to over an hour
- New Cairo and the Fifth Settlement — about 30 to 40 minutes
Cairo traffic has a mind of its own, so treat these as a guide rather than a promise. Your driver will pick the best route on the day.
Finding your driver
Tell us your flight number when you book and we will know your terminal and your arrival time. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a sign, helps with the bags, and has you in an air-conditioned car and on your way while everyone else is still negotiating fares.
