Booking an airport transfer in Egypt: what to check before you pay

Not all airport transfers are equal, and the details that matter are easy to miss when you are clicking book. Before you pay for any transfer in Egypt, here is a quick checklist worth running through.

Is the price actually fixed?

A good transfer quotes one price upfront, confirmed before you travel, with nothing added for luggage, late arrivals or a bigger car than expected. If the price is from a number, or depends on the meter, you do not really know what you will pay until the end.

Is meet-and-greet included?

The whole point of booking ahead is that someone is waiting for you. Check the driver meets you in arrivals with a sign, rather than call this number when you land and wait outside. In a busy hall after a long flight, that difference is everything.

Do they track your flight?

Flights move. A transfer that watches your flight number adjusts to delays and early landings automatically, and waits for you at no extra cost. Without it, a late flight can mean a missed pickup.

What is the cancellation policy?

Plans change. Look for free cancellation up to a day before, so you are not locked in if your trip shifts.

The right car, and how you pay

  • Make sure the vehicle fits your group and your luggage — dive gear, golf clubs and big family cases all need room.
  • Check you can pay the way you want, whether that is online in advance or cash to the driver on arrival.
  • A quick look at recent reviews tells you whether the drivers actually turn up on time.

Tick those boxes and the rest of the journey takes care of itself — which is exactly how the start of a holiday should feel.
