Hotel, corniche or cruise dock
Luxor is compact, and the airport sits just east of the city, so journeys are short. The tricky part is that a lot of arrivals are heading for a Nile cruise rather than a hotel, and the boats dock in a cluster along the river that can be confusing if you do not know which is yours.
Tell us the name of your boat or hotel when you book and the driver takes you to the exact spot — no wandering the dock with your cases looking for the right gangway.
Around Luxor
- East Bank hotels and the corniche — usually 15 to 20 minutes
- Karnak and Luxor Temple area — around 15 minutes
- Cruise docks by the river — about 20 minutes
- West Bank, near the Valley of the Kings — roughly 30 to 40 minutes including the crossing
On arrival
Your driver follows the flight and meets you in the arrivals hall with a sign. Luxor mornings start early if you are visiting the temples or taking a balloon ride, so a quick, fuss-free transfer to your hotel or boat is worth its weight at the end of a travel day.
